Montevecchia
Montevecchia is a picturesque village located on top of the hill, at the real peak there is the medieval sanctuary of the Beata Vergine del Carmelo with panoramic terraces. On clear days, looking south, you could enjoy Brianza from above and see the skyscrapers of Milan, then take a look at the Apennines from afar, while to the north you could see the peaks of the Lecco Pre-Alps.
Montevecchia is also famous for the production of wines and cheeses: the Montevecchia cheese (de facirola) also called fresh Robiolina and fresh Montevecchia cheese made of the fila goats breed. The hills around Montevecchia, with their terraced vineyards, steep slopes and temperature ranges, is the most important wine-growing area in terms of history, tradition and extension in the whole province of Lecco and Como. These lands give the produced wines elegance, freshness and sapidity.
8 labels which are produced there: Nustranel Bianco (Chardonnay, Italian Riesling), Valcurone Bianco (Chardonnay, Italian Riesling and other local grapes), Scernì Terre Lariane IGP (100% Chardonnay), Nustranel Rosso Terre Lariane IG (Merlot, Croatina and Barbera), Valcurone Rosso (Merlot and other local grapes), Cruel Rosso Terre Lariane IGP (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot), Valcurone Spumante Brut (Chardonnay 100%), Valcurone Spumante Brut Rosè (Chardonnay, Pinot Noir).
PARK ADDA NORTH
The canals, industrial archeology, vegetation and more. The river and the surrounding area are rich in significant historical testimonies that refer to different and distant eras. At the height of Paderno d’Adda you reach a spectacular stump canyon, the Forra d’Adda: “Natural Monument of the North Adda Park”. Even Leonardo was fascinated by it to the point of studying, measuring, drawing it in the codes and depicting on the background of the Virgin of the Rocks.
Leonardo’s Ferry
Leonardo’s Ferry (Il Traghetto di Leonard) is located in Imbersago, which he designed in the early 16th century when he stayed in the Duchy of Milan to devote himself to hydraulic studies in the Navigli area. Being built exactly like the original, it allows you to cross the two banks of the Adda river (today belonging to the provinces of Lecco and Bergamo) but before they were under the Duchy of Milan and the Most Serene Republic of Venice.
